Seren D. May 21, Really easy to book our train tickets via bookaway. After booking I received a WhatsApp from Thangveer with our confirmation number and details on how to collect the tickets. He was very friendly and answered my questions about ticket collection. Collecting the tickets from the station was super easy, but I would recommend collecting the day before if you are catching the am train as the counters are closed so early in the morning.
I did remove a star as we were expecting a ticket in the second class carriage as we wanted to be able to open the windows. But the tickets ended up being first class. Eleanor G. May 2, Overall I had a great experience with Bookaway - tickets for the Ella Odyssey get snapped up really quickly but we could only travel on this date so decided to pay the extra to get the tickets we wanted Confirmation came through very soon after booking with the details of the third party company providing the tickets AKMT Holidays - the confirmation did not have a reservation code of seat numbers but it said these would be provided within an hour.
AKMT reached out very soon afterwards to assure me the reservation was confirmed and to let me know that the seat number would actually be sent to me in the week before the booking When it got to that week I was a little nervous as I had not received the details - reached out to AKMT who said not to worry and I would get them the day before.
I contacted Bookaway to ask if this was normal using their online chat feature and they responded very quickly to reassure me that AKMT was a reputable company and everything would be fine I actually only got the seat numbers and reservation code at 11pm the night before the journey but AKMT had been available and responsive throughout We had great seats and an amazing train journey!
